Are there good-paying jobs I can get with minimal schooling?

I'm wondering if there are any high-paying jobs out there that require little to no schooling. I might not go to college, so looking for options that are quick to start after high school.

Absolutely, there are several high-paying jobs you can pursue that require minimal schooling or training as compared to a four-year degree. Some of them demand technical skills or specific certifications and have apprenticeship or on-the-job training programs.

1. Skilled trades: Many skilled trade jobs like electricians, plumbers, and HVAC technicians require training through an apprenticeship or vocational program but can offer solid salaries.

2. Technicians: Roles like radiologic and MRI Technologists, Nuclear Medicine Technologists, Dental Hygienists, or Diagnostic Medical Sonographers require an associate's degree or a postsecondary non-degree award. These are medical-related roles that can yield high incomes with less educational requirement.

3. Transportation: You might consider becoming a commercial pilot, air traffic controller, or even a transportation, storage, and distribution manager. Some of these opportunities may require certain certificates or licenses but not a 4-year degree.

4. IT and Cybersecurity: IT job roles like web developer, system administrator, or cybersecurity analyst often value skills and practical experience over formal education. Though a bachelor's degree can certainly be beneficial in some roles, other paths into these fields can involve obtaining relevant certifications or even being self-taught.

5. Sales: High-ticket sales roles such as real estate, pharmaceuticals, or software can yield high pay, although they may require specific knowledge, skills, or even licensing (in the case of real estate).

Keep in mind that these jobs might require specialized training or certifications, but they don’t typically require a traditional four-year degree. Real-world experience and hands-on training are often heavily weighted in these fields. This list is by no means exhaustive; there are many well-compensated careers out there that do not require extensive schooling. Make sure to explore different options and find a career that suits your skills and aspirations.
