When it comes to studying music education in the New England region, there are several excellent schools to consider.

One of the most highly ranked is the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA. NEC is well-known for its rigorous balance of both academics and performance. The school offers a Music Education major where students learn a variety of teaching practices and music pedagogy while also having the opportunity to enrich their own musicianship.

Another great choice is the Berklee College of Music, also located in Boston, MA. Berklee offers a degree in Music Education which combines the study of contemporary music with traditional teaching strategies. Students gain hands-on teaching experience, and they also have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of performances and ensembles.

The University of Massachusetts Amherst also has a strong music education program. Students of this program take integrated classes in the College of Education and the Department of Music and Dance, equipping them with both the educational theory and musical skills needed to be effective music educators.

The Hartt School, which is part of the University of Hartford in Connecticut, offers a Bachelor's degree in Music Education that prepares students for certification to teach music in schools. This program mixes academic study with lots of performance opportunities, giving students a well-rounded music education.

Remember, choosing a school is about the best fit for you. I'd encourage you to visit the campuses of the schools you're interested in, if you can, and reach out to current students or professors to get a feel for the programs.
