What is the University of Denver enrollment process like?

I'm considering applying to the University of Denver and I'm curious about their enrollment process. How competitive is it, and are there any unique steps I should know about? Any tips would be super helpful!

The University of Denver (DU) has a selective admissions process, and every application is thoroughly reviewed.

The first step is to complete your application using the Common Application. You'll need to provide information about your academic record, extracurricular activities, and work experience.

The second step is to write the DU application essay. DU is quite particular about its application essay and strongly recommends that it specifically addresses the student's interest in DU and how they plan to contribute to the DU community. So, remember to tailor your essay and make sure to highlight why you are a good fit for DU and vice versa.

For your letters of recommendation, DU requires one letter from a teacher and one from a school counselor, although you are permitted to submit an additional letter of recommendation if you choose.

If you decide to submit SAT or ACT scores (they're test-optional), make sure you meet the SAT/ACT test score sending deadline.

DU has a November 1 Early Decision and Early Action deadline and a January 15 Regular Decision deadline. Generally, applying early can demonstrate your strong interest in the school, and could give you a slight boost in your chances of getting admitted.

Lastly, don’t overlook your school transcripts. They have a significant role in the admissions process. DU will look at your grades from all four years of high school and your course rigor. This is to ensure that you’re academically prepared for their curriculum.

Applying to the University of Denver can be competitive, but it's all about showcasing who you are, your achievements, and how you could contribute to their community. Good luck!
