I'm curious about UNC Chapel Hill's engineering ranking

Does anyone know how the engineering program at UNC Chapel Hill is ranked? I'm considering applying and want to make sure it's a good fit for my academic goals. Appreciate any info you can share!

UNC Chapel Hill's engineering program is part of a collaborative effort called the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering with North Carolina State University (NCSU). While UNC Chapel Hill is better known for programs in fields like public health and journalism, the Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering is quite solid. The U.S. News & World Report ranked it in the top 20 for the best undergraduate biomedical engineering programs (2022 ranking).

This collaborative department also affords engineering students unique cross-institutional research opportunities and access to a broader range of faculty expertise. However, it's worth noting that if you're interested in engineering disciplines outside of biomedical, UNC Chapel Hill may not suit your needs as that's the sole engineering program they offer.

I always recommend visiting the school's website and reviewing course curriculums, faculty profiles, and research opportunities to understand if a program aligns with your academic and career aspirations. You can also try to connect with current students or alumni to gain their unique perspective on the program. Good luck with your college applications!
