Best undergraduate schools for architecture?

I'm starting the college search for undergrad architecture programs and feeling overwhelmed. What are some universities known for strong architecture programs that are worth looking into? I'm open to various locations and really want to find a great fit.

There are many top-notch schools for architecture across the country you can consider. Here are some of them:

- Cornell University: The five-year B.Arch degree at Cornell’s College of Architecture, Art, and Planning is consistently ranked as one of the top architecture programs. The curriculum is rigorous and fosters design creativity and critical thinking.

- California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo: Cal Poly’s College of Architecture and Environmental Design offers a Bachelor of Architecture (B.Arch) degree which is heavily focused on hands-on learning and practical experience.

- Syracuse University: Syracuse’s five-year B.Arch program is known for its collaborative environment and studio-based learning. Their study abroad options are also a great opportunity for students to gain global perspectives.

- Rice University: The Rice School of Architecture offers a B.A. in Architecture and a five-year B.Arch degree. They emphasize close interactions between students and faculty and also offer "Preceptorship," an opportunity for students to take a year between their 4th and 5th years to work at a top architecture firm anywhere in the world.

- Rhode Island School of Design (RISD): RISD's Bachelor of Architecture program combines art, design, and liberal arts coursework, offering a unique interdisciplinary approach. It's a great option especially if you're interested in the intersection of architecture and visual arts.

- University of California, Berkeley: Berkeley’s College of Environmental Design offers a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture, equipping students with a strong foundational understanding in architectural design.

You might also want to look at undergraduate architecture programs at the University of Texas, Austin and the University of Southern California.

When deciding, consider the curriculum, the type of degree (i.e. Bachelor of Architecture vs. Bachelor of Arts/Science in Architecture), faculty, location, size of school, cost, and culture. Remember to visit these schools if you can, as it can give you a good sense of the environment and resources. Make sure you consider factors that are important to you personally, not just rankings. Good luck with your search!
