What is it like attending the University of Akron?

I'm thinking about applying to the University of Akron and would love to hear from current or former students about their experiences. What should I know about the campus, academics, or social life there?

The University of Akron, often known by its nickname "Akron U," offers a diverse set of opportunities for students in both academic and social spheres.

Academically, Akron U is known for its robust engineering programs, particularly in Polymer Science and Polymer Engineering, which makes it a unique destination for students interested in these disciplines. The university also offers strong programs in Business, Nursing, and Education. There's a wide variety of majors to choose from, and class sizes are typically small enough to allow for personalized attention from professors.

From an infrastructure standpoint, the campus has gone through a number of enhancements over the last decade. This includes construction of new buildings and renovation of older ones, giving the campus a mix of modern and classic architectural vibes. The campus is fairly compact and walkable, making it easy to get from one class to another.
