AP Calculus: Should I take AB or BC?

Hi everyone, I'm about to choose my courses for next year and I can't decide whether I should take AP Calculus AB or BC. What are the main differences between them and how do colleges view their respective scores? Any advice would be helpful!

Hey there! The main difference between AP Calculus AB and BC is the scope and pace of the material covered. AP Calculus AB covers the basics of differential and integral calculus, whereas AP Calculus BC covers that and goes on to more advanced topics like sequences, series, and polar and parametric equations.

As for how colleges view the scores, it depends on the school. Some colleges give the same amount of credit for both exams, while others give more credit for BC since it's a more advanced course. Generally, if you're strong in math and aiming for a STEM major, taking AP Calculus BC can demonstrate your ability to handle advanced math coursework. However, if you're not as comfortable with math, AP Calculus AB is still a solid option, and you can still earn college credit with a good score. Hope that helps!
