What's the undergraduate population like at UW?

I'm curious about the student life at the University of Washington. Does anyone know what the undergraduate population is like? Are there lots of students or is it more on the smaller side? Trying to get a feel for the campus vibe.

The University of Washington (UW) in Seattle is a large public research university with a significant undergraduate population. As of the 2024-2025 academic year, the university has about 32,000 undergraduate students. With such a large student body, UW boasts a vibrant campus environment, with a wide array of student groups and extracurricular activities. Many students report an active social scene with plenty to do, both on campus and in the surrounding city.

With its large student body, UW also offers a range of courses and majors for students to choose from, so you have the chance to explore a wide range of academic interests. However, it's worth noting that because of its size, some classes, especially lower-division classes, can be quite large.

Overall, if you're looking for a dynamic and bustling university experience in a city setting, UW could be a great fit. It's definitely not a small school though, so keep that in mind when considering your comfort level with larger class sizes and a more diverse student population.
