Deciding where to work after high school?

I'm thinking about jumping into the workforce right after graduation instead of going to college. Does anyone have suggestions for good opportunities or fields that are high-paying or offer growth without needing a degree?

Entering the workforce directly after high school can be a viable path, and there are multiple fields in which one can find rewarding employment and growth opportunities without requiring a degree.

1. Trade Jobs: Trade and vocational professions like electricians, plumbers or HVAC technicians can be highly rewarding, both financially and in terms of job stability. These jobs usually require a post-secondary non-degree award or certificate, typically earned at a technical school, and offer opportunities for advancement with experience.

2. Information Technology: The technology field holds an array of opportunities even for those without a degree. Positions like computer support specialists, IT technicians, or web developers often rely on certifications and hands-on experience more than formal education. Additionally, coding bootcamps can provide quick, intensive training in languages like Python or JavaScript, making you attractive to employers.

3. Health Care: Many health care roles, such as medical assistants, home health aides, and licensed vocational or practical nurses, usually require only a certificate or diploma. They can offer hands-on medical experience and the potential to move up, possibly inspiring you to further your education in the health field in the future.
