Which degrees does NMU offer?

I'm interested in attending Northern Michigan University and was hoping to learn more about the types of degrees they offer. Are there any standout programs or areas of study that the university is known for?

Northern Michigan University (NMU) offers degrees at the bachelor's and master's level, along with various associate degrees and certificate programs, all of which span a wide range of disciplines. In addition, NMU is known for a few standout programs.

One of such programs is Biology, in which the university has strong offerings, particularly in Environmental Science and Conservation Biology. Another notable program is Education, with a diverse range of concentrations from Early Childhood Education to Secondary Education majors.

NMU's Nursing program is highly prominent and well-respected, offering both Bachelor and Master level programs. The school's program in Criminal Justice is also quite prominent, encompassing Law Enforcement, Correctional Studies, and Loss Prevention Management.

If you're interested in the arts, NMU has a strong Art & Design program. Students have the opportunity to specialize in a variety of disciplines such as ceramics, painting, drawing, graphic design, and metalsmithing. The university's facilities, including Devos Art Museum, provide valuable hands-on experience and opportunities to showcase work.

Lastly, NMU's Outdoor Recreation Leadership and Management degree is distinct, taking advantage of the university's location in Michigan's Upper Peninsula to provide students with real-world, outdoor hands-on experience.

Keep in mind, this is just a small sample of the university's offerings. It would be beneficial to browse NMU's official course catalog or contact the admissions office to get a comprehensive list of their offered degrees. Also, research to understand each program's specific requirements, resources, and outcomes, in order to find which one aligns best with your career aspirations and interests.
