Can I study nursing at Virginia Tech?

I'm really interested in Virginia Tech, but I'm not sure if they offer a nursing program. Does anyone know if they have nursing courses or related healthcare majors?

Virginia Tech does not have a traditional nursing program. However, they do have a range of majors related to healthcare such as Public Health, Clinical Neuroscience, or even the highly interdisciplinary Human Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise program, among others. These majors can provide a strong foundation if you're considering a career in healthcare.

Virginia Tech also has a partnership with the accelerated BSN program at George Washington University, which entails completing your bachelor's degree at Virginia Tech and then going straight into a second bachelor's, in nursing, at George Washington. You can learn more about this distinctive program here: https://career.vt.edu/advising/hpa/Virginia-Tech-George-Washington-University-agreement-ABSN.html

However, if you're strictly interested in Nursing straight away, you may want to consider other institutions that have strong, accredited nursing programs. Schools like University of Virginia and James Madison University both have reputable nursing programs within the state of Virginia. Remember to consider factors such as program size, facilities, faculty, and opportunities for experimental learning when choosing a nursing program.

If you're still interested in Virginia Tech, I'd encourage you to think about what it is about the school or the broader field of healthcare that interests you, and how you might be able to cater your education towards your goals. Even if they don't have the exact major you want, a combination of coursework, internships, and research might still satisfy what you're looking for. You should discuss potential paths with your guidance counselor or an admissions officer to get a more personalized evaluation.

Good luck!
