Finding part-time work in Fort Collins as a student

I live near Fort Collins and I'm trying to find a part-time job that won’t interfere too much with my classes. Does anyone have suggestions on companies that are known to hire students?

Absolutely! Many businesses, especially those close to campuses like Colorado State University, are used to being flexible with student schedules. Here are various types of jobs where students often find part-time work:

1. Retail stores: Many retail establishments, especially in malls, are consistently on the lookout for part-time employees. Clothing stores, bookstores, and other specialty retail shops can be a good fit.

2. Restaurants and Cafes: These businesses often need staff for different shifts, so you might be able to find something that works around your class schedule. Some locations may even let you do your homework during downtime.

3. Campus Jobs: Many colleges and universities offer jobs for students. These can be beneficial because they are specifically designed to work around your class schedule. Jobs can range from working in the library to assisting in various administrative offices, or being part of maintenance and janitorial staff.

4. Tutoring or Teaching Assistant (TA): If you excel in any particular subject, consider becoming a tutor or a teaching assistant. Not only does it pay, but it can also help reinforce your own understanding of the subject matter.

5. Freelance or Contract work: If you have a skill that can be done on your own schedule, such as writing, graphic design, web development or social media management, consider freelancing! There are many websites where you can find freelance work, such as Upwork or Fiverr.

Remember to keep your schedule in mind when applying for jobs. Make sure you're not overcommitting yourself, because your primary focus should be on your studies. Good luck in your job search!
