ED and EA at the same time?

Hi! I was wondering if it's possible to apply to a college through Early Decision while also applying to others through Early Action? Like, would that be okay, or do colleges frown upon that sort of thing?

Hi there! It's absolutely possible to apply to one college through Early Decision (ED) and others through Early Action (EA). In fact, many students choose this strategy to increase their chances of admission. Just be sure to read and understand the specific policies of each college you're applying to, as some colleges have restrictions in place regarding other applications.

For reference, Early Decision is a binding agreement, which means if you're accepted to a college through ED, you must attend that school and withdraw all other applications. Early Action, on the other hand, is non-binding and allows you to apply to multiple schools early, with the option to accept or decline their offers by the regular decision deadline.

So, you can definitely apply to other colleges through Early Action while you have an Early Decision application in the works. Just keep in mind that if you're accepted through ED, you'll need to withdraw those other applications promptly.

Good luck with your applications!
