Colleges in the US with Study Abroad Programs

Are there any colleges in the US known for having really great study abroad programs? I'm hoping to find a school with plenty of overseas options, especially since I want to experience different cultures during my college years.

Sure, numerous US colleges have thriving study abroad programs, offering a diverse range of cultures to experience:

1. Middlebury College: Middlebury in Vermont has an outstanding reputation for its study abroad programs. They have programs in 36 countries across six continents and are particularly known for their high-quality language programs.

2. Stanford University: Stanford’s Bing Overseas Studies Program offers study abroad opportunities in 11 countries. Stanford also maintains its own centers in several locations across Europe, Asia, and South America.

3. University of San Diego: Almost two-thirds of juniors at USD study abroad, with 135 programs in 44 countries. USD is noted for their semester-long overseas offerings.

4. Georgetown University: This DC-based college has over 160 study abroad opportunities in more than 40 countries. Georgetown is known for a number of direct matriculation programs around the world, which means students can directly attend selected universities in other countries.

5. University of Arkansas: The university boasts 1,800 study abroad programs in over 50 countries. They have a program called "Hogs Abroad" which is popular with students for its scholarship opportunities and wide array of study abroad programs.

Remember, studying abroad isn’t just about the destination, but also about how well that experience is integrated into your overall curriculum. Find a program that meshes nicely with your course of study and ideally offers some sort of hands-on experience or internship. Good luck in your search!
