What hospital jobs can I get right out of high school?

I’m about to graduate and I’m not sure if college is right for me, at least not immediately. Are there any hospital jobs that I can get with just a high school diploma? Any advice would be appreciated.

Sure, there are several jobs in the healthcare field you could potentially apply for immediately after high school, even without a college degree. Here are some to consider:

1. Medical Scribe: This role assists doctors by taking notes during patient visits. It can provide a wealth of experience if you're considering a future career in medicine.

2. EMT or Paramedic: For this role, you would need to complete a training course, but you can start immediately after high school. These professionals respond to emergency calls and provide immediate care to patients.

3. Medical Administrative Assistant: This role involves managing medical records, scheduling appointments, and other administrative tasks for medical offices.

4. Pharmacy Technician: Pharmacy techs help pharmacists dispense prescription medication to customers or health professionals. Some states require certification, which can often be obtained through a short training program.

5. Physical Therapy Aide: In this role, you would be assisting physical therapists with patient care. It's a good option if you're considering a career in physical therapy.

6. Phlebotomist: Phlebotomists draw blood for tests, transfusions, research, or donations. Some phlebotomists enter the occupation with a high school diploma and receive on-the-job training or job-specific training.

Remember, while these positions don't require a college degree, some may require specialized certification or training. It's also a good idea to consider which of these roles might align with any long-term career goals you have, in case you decide to go to college or pursue further training later. Take the time to explore potential paths and investigate the necessary steps to start a career in healthcare. Many of these roles can provide invaluable experience and a stepping stone to other healthcare careers if you should decide to continue your education in the future. I hope this helps and best of luck in your job search!
