I'm filling out a job application and I'm not sure how to list my high school education. I’ve attended two different high schools. Should I list both on the application, or just focus on the current one?
When filling out a job application that requests high school education history, it's often best to include information about the high school from which you graduated, or will be graduating, since it ultimately will convey your completion of that portion of your education. If the application specifically asks for all high schools you've attended, or if you feel your experience at both schools is relevant to the job you're applying for, then you should list both.
For example, if you spent your freshman and sophomore years at High School A, and your junior and senior years at High School B, you can list them like so:
1. High School B, City, State: 11th - 12th grade
2. High School A, City, State: 9th - 10th grade
If there’s a specific reason why you attended multiple high schools and you think it's significant or relevant, you can potentially also include a brief explanation in the relevant portion of your application (if there is room), or bring this up in an interview if applicable. It could be due to moving to a new city, switching academic programs, or any other significant life circumstance that might have necessitated the change.
