Can You Earn High School Credits Through Job Corps?

Does anyone know if you can earn high school credits while in Job Corps? I'm thinking about joining but want to make sure it won't set me back in completing my high school requirements.

Yes, you can indeed earn high school credits while attending Job Corps. It's a federal program designed to help young adults, between the ages of 16 and 24, achieve their educational and career goals. Job Corps offers a substantial number of programs, and one of them is the High School Diploma (HSD) program where enrollees can obtain a recognized high school diploma.

Basically, the program is designed in a way where you can continue your academic education while learning a trade or skill. Job Corps partners with local public and charter schools for this High School Diploma track. So while you're gaining vocational skills, you're also working towards meeting typical high school academic requirements that would enable you to receive credits.

You'd be assigned to an academic instructor who will design an individualized educational plan (IEP) to suit your specific needs. It's a comprehensive program that focuses on both academic and career-based education which allows you to gain marketable job skills while fulfilling your high school requirements. It's definitely worth considering if you're concerned about completing your high school education.
