Seasonal Job Hunt in the San Fernando Valley?

High school junior here trying to find a seasonal job in the San Fernando Valley. I'm open to a variety of roles but retail and food service seem most practical. Has anyone had luck with certain companies or know who hires students?

Good on you for taking the initiative to look for a seasonal job! Based on your preferences for retail and food service roles, you might have decent luck with larger national chains, because they often increase their staffing during the holiday season or summer. Stores like Target, Macy's, and Best Buy are typically on the lookout for extra help. For food service, try fast-food chains or coffee shops like McDonald's, Starbucks, or even local restaurants.

Consider also thinking outside the box a bit - movie theaters, local parks, and recreation centers also often hire part-time or temporary employees.

When you apply, make sure to highlight any relevant skills or experiences you've had in your application or resume. Even if you haven't had a formal job before, experiences like volunteering or being involved in school clubs can show that you're responsible and can work as part of a team.

Just remember, applying for jobs is a numbers game. So the more applications you send, the better your chances of landing something. And don't be disheartened if you don't hear back right away, these things can take time.

Good luck with your job hunt!
