What are some high-paying seasonal jobs for teenagers?

I'm a high school junior looking to make some extra cash over the summer. Does anyone know of high-paying seasonal jobs that are teen-friendly? Any tips on where to apply or what industries to look into would be really helpful!

Sure, there are a number of seasonal jobs where you can earn reasonably well as a teenager. One option is lifeguarding, which can be particularly lucrative if you're in a community with a lot of pools or a beach nearby. This job does require certification, but often pays above minimum wage.

You might also consider working as a caddy at a local golf course, which can pay particularly well if you pick up tips from golfers. Another option in the hospitality industry could be a server or host at a local restaurant, which can often boost your earnings with tips.

Retail can also have seasonal hiring, particularly in stores that get a significant boost in the summer like gardening or home improvement shops.

Lastly, if you love working with kids, consider working as a summer camp counselor. The pay can vary, but you often get room and board included if it's a sleepaway camp, which can be a nice bonus.

For each of these, the key will be applying early (think March or April) and presenting yourself as responsible and eager to learn. Remember that this could be an opportunity to develop work experience and skills, in addition to the paycheck. It might be a good idea to think about what industries you are interested in, as this job could potentially provide experience related to your future career path.
