Best Black Colleges for Nursing?

I'm researching historically Black colleges and universities. Which HBCUs have strong nursing programs that provide a solid education and good outcomes for students?

There are quite a few HBCUs with commendable nursing programs. Here are a few that have garnered strong reputations:

1. Hampton University: Hampton University in Virginia offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) online, as well as in-person Master’s and PhD programs in nursing. They provide a holistic approach to nursing education.

2. North Carolina A&T State University: North Carolina A&T’s nursing program also has high NCLEX-RN pass rates and their graduates are in high demand. They also offer different types of nursing programs, from a BSN to a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN).

3. Howard University: In Washington D.C., Howard University provides a BSN program as well as a Master's program. Howard's Division of Nursing has been consistently recognized for its comprehensive curriculum and experienced faculty.

4. Florida A&M University: Florida A&M has both a traditional BSN program and an Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing (ABSN) program for applicants who already have a non-nursing bachelor’s degree. They also boast high NCLEX-RN pass rates.

5. Spelman College: While Spelman does not directly offer a BSN program, they have formed a partnership with Emory University's Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing where students can spend their first three years at Spelman then transition to Emory to complete their nursing degree.

All of these universities also offer opportunities for students to gain practical experience through clinical rotations, and simulate real-world nursing experiences. Remember, the best college for you depends on your personal goals, academic strengths, and learning style.
