PreACT scoring?

Hey everyone, I'm planning to take the PreACT, and I'm not exactly sure how the scoring works. How many points is it out of? Are there specific cut-off scores to aim for? Any help would be awesome!

Hello! The PreACT is designed to give you a general idea of how you might perform on the actual ACT, so it's a great practice tool. The PreACT is scored on a scale of 1 to 36, just like the ACT. However, the PreACT is slightly shorter and has fewer questions than the full-length ACT.

Just like the ACT, the test is divided into four sections: English, Math, Reading, and Science. The scores from each section are averaged to create a composite score, which also ranges from 1 to 36. There aren't specific cut-off scores for the PreACT since it's a practice exam and it's not used by colleges for admissions, however it can still help you identify areas that need improvement or focus for when you take the actual ACT.

To make the most of your PreACT score, you can compare it to the ACT score averages of the colleges you're interested in attending. This gives you an idea if you're on track or if you need to improve in certain areas before taking the ACT. Good luck with your PreACT, and remember to use the results as a tool for growth and study planning!
