Which liberal arts colleges are most welcoming to international students?

I'm an international student researching liberal arts colleges in the U.S. and want to find ones with strong support systems and diverse communities. Which schools would you recommend for someone in my position, both academically and socially?

Several excellent liberal arts colleges in the U.S. offer a welcoming environment and substantial support to international students.

For instance, Amherst College in Massachusetts is recognized for its diverse student body and strong support for international students. The International Students Association organizes cultural events and provides mentoring programs for international students.

Similarly, Bates College in Maine and Pomona College in California are known for welcoming international students. Both colleges offer various resources for international students, including guidance counselors who specialize in supporting international students, extensive orientation programs, and varied student-run cultural organizations.

Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania is another great option. The college goes a step beyond just welcoming international students; it fosters a global perspective on campus, encouraging all students, domestic and international, to integrate global awareness into their studies.

Lastly, Middlebury College in Vermont offers an International Student & Scholar Services office that aids international students and scholars in their cultural and academic adjustment.

Bear in mind, that many liberal arts colleges value international students and the diverse experiences they bring to campus. I highly recommend reviewing each school's office of international student services or equivalent to learn more about the resources and support they offer. It may also be helpful to reach out to current international students or alumni from these schools to hear about their experiences directly. Good luck with your college search!
