Suggestions for the best college for wildlife biology in Virginia?

I'm considering studying wildlife biology and am keen on staying in Virginia for college. Does anyone know which schools are best for this major within the state and what unique opportunities they offer students?

Definitely check out Virginia Tech. They have two renowned programs, in Fish Conservation and Wildlife Conservation, that emphasize conservation biology, wildlife/fish health, wildlife/fish habitat management, and population ecology, which align with your interests. Depending on which specific major you pursue, you would focus your studies on either land wildlife or fish.

In addition to a strong curriculum, there are a number of extra opportunities that make this program stand out. Virginia Tech is home to the Conservation Management Institute, which conducts research on global conservation, and the Virginia Cooperative Fish and Wildlife Research Unit working closely with government agencies to address wildlife management issues.

Another great university to consider could be the College of William & Mary. Their Biology department offers a concentration in Environment & Sustainability where students can focus their studies on ecology and various aspects of conservation.

Remember that the best college for you should align with your personal and academic goals beyond just the major, so be sure to look into other factors such as size, location, campus culture, financial aid opportunities, etc. which also play a huge part in your overall college experience.
