I'm trying to find out which colleges in America have the best art programs. I'm passionate about developing my skills and need a college with great facilities and teaching. Any recommendations from fellow artists?

Sure, there are several colleges in America that really excel in teaching art and have top-notch facilities. Here's a list which could be useful for you:

1. Rhode Island School of Design (RISD): RISD has a highly respected fine arts program with concentrations in various fields like painting, printmaking, photography, and ceramics.

2. Pratt Institute: Pratt is known for both its visual arts and its architectural programs. It has good resources and studio space for students.

3. School of the Art Institute of Chicago (SAIC): SAIC allows for a lot of interdisciplinary study, so you could explore the intersections of different art forms.

4. Yale University: Yale's School of Art offers graduate degrees in fields like painting/printmaking, photography, and sculpture. Their undergraduate program in arts is also quite robust.

5. California Institute of the Arts (CalArts): CalArts is particularly known for their animation program, but they also offer programs in fields like art and technology, graphic design, and photography.

6. Carnegie Mellon University: Carnegie Mellon offers an interdisciplinary BFA that integrates art, design, and technology.

7. Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA): MICA, is very well respected in the field. They have over 15 different studio departments, so you can study a range of mediums.

Remember, the best college for you will depend on your specific artistic interests and career goals. You'd want to find a school that aligns with your preferred medium, artistic style, and overall career aims. If possible, try to visit the campuses, talk to both professors and students, and if they have an art exhibition, that would be a fabulous opportunity to understand the kind of work students are producing.

Also, keep in mind the other factors like geographic location, size, cost, and culture that matter to you in a college. This will help ensure you not only go to a school with a great art program, but also have a rewarding college experience overall.
