Cambridge, MA, is home to several reputable institutions known for their excellent programs in various fields, including Art History.

Harvard University stands as a strong choice for Art History. They have an outstanding program known for its breadth and depth, covering a wide range of periods, cultures, and methodologies. Notably, Harvard's Art History majors have the privilege of utilizing the Harvard Art Museums, which houses a comprehensive collection of art from various periods.

You might also want to consider Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). While known for its STEM programs, the Department of Architecture at MIT also delivers an Art History program, which is well-regarded for its intellectual rigor. The curriculum links history, theory, and criticism to contemporary architectural and social issues. Plus, as an Art History student at MIT, you would have access to the List Visual Arts Center, MIT's contemporary art museum, as a defining resource.

Lastly, while located a bit further from the core of Cambridge, the Massachusetts College of Art and Design (MassArt) in Boston provides a strong Art History program. Given its university-wide emphasis on fine arts, the Art History program at MassArt could particularly benefits students wanting a deeply art-integrated environment.

As a final piece of advice, I encourage you to look into the particular strengths of each program and find an approach that best aligns with your interests within the field of Art History.
