I'm really into global issues and thinking about international studies for college. Which liberal arts colleges have top programs in this area? It'd be great to find one with strong language courses too.

There are quite a few liberal arts schools that would be a great fit for your interests in international studies, coupled with strong language curriculum.

Middlebury College in Vermont is heavily praised for its language and international studies programs. The college's strong commitment to languages is reflected in its Language Pledge - a tradition where students studying a language pledge to communicate only in their language of study.

Another good option is Swarthmore College, located in Pennsylvania. They have a well-known international studies department that's multidisciplinary in nature, offering courses to study international facets of political science, economics, history, and sociology.

Bowdoin College in Maine is another standout for international studies. Their international relations major is highly regarded, with notable strengths in geographic areas like Asian studies and Latin American studies.

Alongside these, Williams College in Massachusetts has a solid history in international affairs too. Their international studies concentration pairs well with language offerings and offers a lot in terms of exploration of the field.

Macalester College, located in Minnesota, is known for its focus on internationalism. The International Studies department offers a multidisciplinary approach and integrates study abroad opportunities in their curriculum.

Lastly, don't overlook Claremont McKenna, located in Southern California. They have a revered International Relations program and what's unique is their focus on economics and politics on a global level. They also have the Kravis Leadership Institute, which can extend your studies into the realm of leadership within an international context.
