There are several note-taking apps that many students find very effective and useful.

1. OneNote: Microsoft's OneNote is a favorite among many students because it's free and compatible with Windows, Mac, Android, and iOS. It allows you to jot down notes, draw diagrams, and even insert multimedia.

2. Evernote: Evernote is another well-loved tool which allows for easy note-taking, web clipping, and organization. The basic version is free, but the premium version has additional features, like offline access to your notes, annotation on PDFs, and more.

3. Notion: This app is becoming increasingly popular for its flexibility and multi-functionality. Notion allows you to create fully customizable pages to suit your individual needs. You can add tables, lists, multimedia, and even connect pages.

4. Google Docs: Google Docs might not be a conventional choice for note-taking, but it's excellent for real-time collaboration, accessibility from any device, and automatic saving to the cloud.

5. Bear: Available on Apple devices, Bear is known for its clean interface and simplicity. Bear also uses a unique tagging system for organization that many students find helpful.

Remember, the best tool may vary according to your specific needs. It's worth trying out a few to find the one that best suits your note-taking style. For instance, if you need a more visual style of note-taking, Notion or OneNote are probably your best bets. And remember to backup your notes regularly, either syncing to the cloud or exporting copies!
