Suggestions for the best calculator for high school and college?

I'm looking for a calculator that will last through both high school and college math courses. What models would you recommend for ease of use and versatility throughout those years?

I'd strongly recommend the Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus CE. It's known for its usability, functionality, and durability, and it's permitted for use on the SAT, ACT, and AP exams. The TI-84 Plus CE has a color display, rechargeable battery, and preloaded software crammed with helpful functions. Many high school and college math courses use this type of calculator in their curriculums, so you won't have trouble finding help with it if needed.

Another option is the Casio fx-9750GII, which is a little more budget-friendly and also has a good range of functions. Although it may lack some of the more advanced statistical features of the TI-84, it's also a staple in many classrooms and is a powerful tool for most high school and college level math courses.

If you're likely to take higher-level courses such as calculus or engineering, the TI-nSpire CX CAS could be a valuable investment. It's capable of symbolic manipulation, meaning it can solve equations symbolically, which can be incredibly useful in those classes. But note, this calculator is not allowed on the ACT, so it would be best if you're taking the SAT or going straight into college.

Remember: regardless of which calculator you choose, it's essential to get comfortable using it before you have to use it on an exam, so practice plenty once you make your choice!
