Some colleges are known for their education programs and could provide you with a great education and preparation to become a high school English teacher.

1. Vanderbilt University: Vanderbilt's Peabody College of Education is widely recognized as one of the top education schools in the nation. They offer undergraduate programs that combine studying English with preparation for becoming a teacher.

2. University of Wisconsin-Madison: Their School of Education is highly ranked, and they offer a highly regarded English Education program.

3. University of Michigan-Ann Arbor: With a high-ranking School of Education and a strong English department, this could be a great choice for you. They offer a program for English majors who want to become teachers.

4. Stanford University: The Stanford Teacher Education Program (STEP) offers a Master's in teaching, which could be a great choice if you plan to pursue an English degree in undergrad and then get your master's.

5. UCLA: UCLA's Teacher Education Program offers a combined credential and Masters program in English teaching. Alongside this, UCLA has one of the strongest English departments in the nation.

Remember, however, that the "best" college will also depend a great deal on your individual preferences, needs, and career aspirations.
