I'm really into both animation and graphic design, and I'm trying to find some of the top colleges in the US that are known for these fields. Any suggestions or personal experiences you could share?

When looking for top colleges in the US for animation and graphic design, there are a few names that frequently come up due to their strong curricula, accomplished faculty, and impressive student work.

1. Rhode Island School of Design (RISD): RISD's graphic design and animation/illustration departments have a great reputation. Their curriculum is rigorous and they offer a great blend of theory, technical skills, and creative artistry.

2. California Institute of the Arts (CalArts): Known as one of the top Animation schools in the country, CalArts offers a strong program which has forged great animators who've worked on many famous animated films. They also have a Graphic Design program, allowing students to explore both interests.

3. Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD): Both their animation and graphic design programs are highly reputable, and the school has a track record of students landing impressive jobs after graduation.

4. School of Visual Arts (SVA) in New York City: Offers well-regard animation and graphic design programs and provides students with opportunities for networking in the bustling creative industry of NYC.

5. University of Southern California (USC): The USC School of Cinematic Arts' animation program is excellent. They also have a department of design, teaching design theory and application.

Remember, admissions for these top programs can be competitive, but they are definitely worth considering given their strong reputations in these fields. Always consider your own requirements for a creative learning environment, opportunities for internships and practical experience, as well as the overall fit with the college community when making your decisions.
