What are the most economical universities in the USA?

I'm starting to think about college and my budget is pretty tight. Can anyone suggest universities in the USA that are known for being economical or providing a good value? Scholarships or financial aid tips would also be super helpful.

There are several U.S. universities that offer a strong return on investment, boasting both high-quality education and affordable costs. Here are a few:

1. Brigham Young University: BYU, supported by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, has very affordable tuition rates, especially for members of the church.

2. Berea College: Berea has a strong commitment to offering high-quality education to students financially in need. Every admitted student receives a Tuition Promise Scholarship, which covers 100% of tuition charges.

3. University of Florida: UF offers a combination of low in-state tuition and strong educational programs.

4. Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis: IUPUI offers numerous financial aid options and scholarships, making it a great place for a quality education at a reasonable cost.

When it comes to financial aid, most U.S. universities offer aid packages based on family's financial need. To apply, you'll need to fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) starting October 1st of the year before you plan to enroll. The output of this application, the Student Aid Index (SAI), will be used by colleges to determine your eligibility for federal, state, and college-sponsored financial aid, including grants and loans.

Always take time to search for external scholarships as well. Local community groups, companies, and charitable organizations often have scholarships available. Sites like Appily also list scholarship opportunities.

Remember to make use of each school's Net Price Calculator (found on their website) to estimate your cost of attendance taking into account possible financial aid. This will help you get a clearer idea of what your final cost might look like!
