Does my Indeed profile need high school job listings?

I'm updating my Indeed profile and wondering if I should include the part-time jobs I've held during high school. Do colleges or future employers look at these experiences, or should I focus on more recent and relevant work?

Including your high school jobs depends on two main factors: relevance and recentness.

1. Relevance: It's generally a good idea to include experiences in your Indeed profile that are relevant to the jobs you're applying for. If you've held a job in high school that's related to the field you're looking to pursue, mentioning them will emphasize your long-standing interest and foundation in that area.

2. Recentness: If your high school job was a few years ago and you've had more recent and more relevant experiences, you might want to prioritize those. Your most recent experiences give potential employers a better picture of your current skill set.

When it comes to college applications, it can be helpful to include these experiences to show your ability to manage multiple responsibilities. Colleges want to see that you've been active and involved during your high school years, and holding a part-time job is a responsible and respected form of engagement.

So, if you're short on professional experiences or your high school job aligns with your career path, go ahead and include it. But remember, as time passes and you gain more relevant experience, gradually phase out your high school jobs from your Indeed profile.
