Which university in the US has the most students?

I'm curious about which universities have the largest student bodies in the US. Does the size of the student population affect the campus experience, and if so, how?

The university with one of the largest student bodies in the U.S. is currently the University of Central Florida (UCF), which hosts about 69,000 students across their undergraduate and graduate programs.

The size of the student population does affect the campus experience but how it does so can vary greatly. At larger universities, the amount of resources, programs, and activities can be considerable. With a large student body, the variety of classes and majors available tend to be more extensive, possibly allowing you to explore multiple interests. Larger institutions may have more research opportunities, more robust athletics and intramural sports programs, and a larger variety of on-campus clubs and organizations.

However, keep in mind that larger universities might also mean larger class sizes, especially for lower-level courses, and perhaps less one-on-one time with professors. You might also feel a bit more anonymous among thousands of students. It comes down to personal preference whether you prefer a smaller, more intimate setting or a larger, more diverse one.

For example, consider another student who prefers smaller classes, more interaction with professors, and a closely-knit community. They might thrive better at a smaller school. It truly depends on your personal preferences and what you're looking to gain from your college experience.

It's also important to note that there are ways to make a large university feel smaller such as joining clubs, participating in intramural sports, living in theme-based residence halls, or becoming part of a learning community, among other things. These strategies can help greatly in finding friend groups and feeling at home on a large campus.
