2024 military enlistment requirements?

I'm interested in joining the military after high school, possibly in 2024. Does anyone know what the general enlistment requirements are for different branches? I'm trying to plan my next steps and want to be prepared.

Certainly, it's great that you're making a rigorous effort to be prepared for your potential enlistment. Here are some general military enlistment requirements for each branch of the U.S. Military:

- U.S. Army: The minimum age for enlistment is 17 (with parental consent), and the maximum is 34. You'll need either a high school diploma or GED, meet weight and physical fitness standards, and pass the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test. A criminal record could potentially disqualify you.

- U.S. Navy: Similar to the Army, the Navy’s age requirement ranges from 17 (with parental consent) to 39. High school diploma or GED, passing the ASVAB test, meeting physical and medical standards, and showing good moral character are essential.

- U.S. Air Force: Applicants must be between 17-39 years of age, possess a high school diploma (or GED with 15 college credits), and pass the ASVAB test. Health, fitness, and moral standards apply much the same as they do for other branches.

- U.S. Marine Corps: Age requirements are from 17-29. Along with a high school diploma or GED, you would be required to score a 32 minimum on the ASVAB, meet height and weight standards, and pass a physical examination.

- U.S. Coast Guard: The minimum age is 17 with parental consent, and the maximum age is 31. A high school diploma, good health, and a qualifying ASVAB score are required. This branch has more specialized skills training, so having relevant skills or aptitude could benefit your application.

- U.S. Space Force: As the newest branch (established in 2019), Space Force recruits from within the Department of the Air Force and other military branches. They require a strong foundation in STEM-based skills and fields. The age limits and basic requirements are currently similar to the Air Force.

Please note age requirements can vary according to each branch's specific roles or positions. It's recommended to get in touch with a recruiter from the branch you're interested in for the most accurate and up-to-date information.
