What are some jobs through vocational rehab?

Does anyone have experience with the kinds of jobs you can achieve through vocational rehabilitation? Are they well-paying, and do they offer good career growth? I'd appreciate some examples.

Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) services are designed to help individuals with disabilities prepare for, secure, retain, or regain employment. The aim is to help individuals reach their full employment potential based on their strengths, resources, priorities, concerns, abilities, capabilities, interests, and informed choice.

The types of jobs VR can help individuals achieve are quite varied, spanning a spectrum of industries and roles, depending on the individual's skills, interests, and limitations. For instance, it could be anything from office-based roles like administrative assistants, to more hands-on jobs like automotive technicians, or creative roles such as graphic designers.

As for salary, it's important to note that the pay scale can vary significantly based on factors such as the type of job, the individual's qualifications, the geographic location, and the industry. When it comes to career growth, VR services should ideally foster long-term career development, encouraging individuals to seek out new opportunities for advancement within their chosen field.

Remember, the primary goal of vocational rehabilitation is to help people with disabilities become independent, integrated into society, and self-supporting to the best of their ability. This process may include job placement services, job skills training, job seeking skills training, on-the-job training, educational guidance, coaching and mentoring, and a variety of other services. The level of support given will vary from person to person, based on their unique needs and circumstances.

To give you two concrete examples. A person interested in technology and have good problem-solving skills may pursue a career in IT support with the help of VR. They could start at an entry-level role, gain experience, and over time, take on managerial or specialist roles. On the other hand, someone with a talent for crafting and fine motor skills may receive VR assistance to start a career as a jeweler. With time and experience, they could perhaps even open their own storefront.
