Best college for engineering in Maryland?

I'm a high school junior looking at engineering programs, and I'm curious about the best colleges for engineering in Maryland. Does anyone have recommendations or personal experiences with engineering schools in that area?

There are several well-regarded colleges for engineering in Maryland that might be worth considering.

- Johns Hopkins University, based in Baltimore, offers one of the strongest engineering programs not only in the state but also nationwide. It’s nationally recognized for its excellent biomedical engineering program. Other strengths include mechanical engineering, civil engineering, and materials engineering.

- The University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP), also has a wide array of notable engineering specialties. With over 4,000 students in the A. James Clark School of Engineering has a large community and offers a wide variety of resources. Their programs in aerospace engineering and mechanical engineering are particularly strong.

- Lastly, you might consider the United States Naval Academy. While it's very different from a traditional university due to the military service commitment, the program is robust and offers thirteen different engineering majors. It's one of the biggest producers of bachelor’s degree-to-PhD graduates in engineering.

Each of these schools offers its programs and student life, so you should research more and potentially visit these campuses to figure out which would be the best fit for you based on your specific interests and needs. You might also wish to consider factors such as location, faculty, resources, overall fit, and opportunities for internships or co-ops, all of which can significantly enrich your engineering experience. Remember, the best school for you depends on more than just program strength—it also depends on what else you're looking for in a college experience.
