Best Texas college for chemical engineering?

I'm a high school junior in Texas and considering chemical engineering. I want to know which Texas college has the best chemical engineering program. Any recommendations or personal experiences would be helpful!

There are a number of strong options in Texas for studying chemical engineering. Off the top, the most highly ranked programs come from the University of Texas at Austin and Texas A&M University-College Station. Both have strong engineering departments in general, and their chemical engineering programs are highly respected.

At UT Austin, the McKetta Department of Chemical Engineering is consistently ranked among the top chemical engineering programs in the nation. The department has a strong research focus, with opportunities for undergraduates to get involved in research projects. Furthermore, their program offers terrific networking opportunities due to its close relationships with many companies in the petroleum, chemical, biochemical, semiconductor, and materials industries, which is quite beneficial given the strong chemical industry presence in Texas.

Texas A&M's Artie McFerrin Department of Chemical Engineering is another remarkable choice, with outstanding faculty and also great research opportunities. Like UT Austin, TAMU has strong connections with industries due to its location in a state known for its oil, gas, and chemical industries.

Both UT Austin and Texas A&M have outstanding co-op and internship opportunities that can help students get hands-on experience, which is vital in engineering roles.

You might also want to consider Rice University. Although smaller and less recognized than UT and A&M in engineering, Rice offers a highly personal and highly respected education, and its engineering students have a high placement rate into jobs and graduate schools.

Lastly, remember to also consider factors like campus culture, cost, size, and location, as you will be spending at least four years at this institution. The "fit" aspect is just as important as the academic aspect.
