Best college in Ohio for computer science?

I'm looking at colleges in Ohio specifically for computer science programs. Does anyone know which university might be the top choice for someone focused on this major? Trying to figure out where I'll get the best education and experiences.

For prospective computer science students in Ohio, there are several notable institutions which are well-regarded for their computer science programs.

First, Ohio State University (OSU) should be on your list. The Department of Computer Science and Engineering at OSU is known for its wide array of course offerings and research opportunities. The faculty is highly experienced and many of them are involved in ground-breaking research.

Another strong option in Ohio is Case Western Reserve University. Their Computer and Data Sciences Department offers opportunities for research, internships, and co-ops that complement classroom instruction.

Additionally, the University of Cincinnati should be a contender. The School of Information Technology offers a blend of theoretical foundation and practical application, plus cooperative education experiences for students that can boost their resumes.

Finally, consider Carnegie Mellon University (CMU) if you're looking out-of-state. It is based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania which is just outside Ohio but it's known to have one of the strongest computer science programs nationally.

While all these institutions offer robust computer science programs, other factors can affect the categorization of "best". Each school offers different experiences, on-campus resources, and opportunities. Be sure to investigate extracurricular activities, student organizations, internship opportunities, and faculty research areas at each school. These aspects can play significant roles in shaping your college experience and opportunities post-graduation.

Remember, the best school for you depends on a combination of factors only you can weigh, such as size, geographic location, collaborative versus competitive vibe, class size, availability of professors, cost, and other personal preferences.
