Looking into computer science programs, and I'm focusing on Missouri right now. Can anyone recommend which college in this state has a great computer science department? Personal experiences or knowledge would be super helpful!

Certainly! In the state of Missouri, there are a few notable options for pursuing a degree in Computer Science.

The University of Missouri–Columbia (often referred to as Mizzou) typically has a standout Computer Science program with offerings at the undergraduate, masters, and doctoral level. Faculty here are engaged in cutting-edge research in fields like Artificial Intelligence, Network & Distributed Systems, Data Science, and more. Students often have opportunities to engage in research as well.

Another strong contender is Washington University in St. Louis (WashU). They offer both Bachelors and Masters of Science in Computer Science. The curriculum is comprehensive, covering areas such as algorithms, systems & networking, machine learning & data science, and more. WashU also boasts of strong faculty and a wealth of research opportunities for students.

Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) is also worth considering. It has a well-regarded Computer Science department, and is particularly known for focusing on the technical and engineering aspect of the field.

In terms of personal experiences, remember each student's experience will vary greatly depending on personal interests, academic focus, and other factors. It can be beneficial to tour these schools if possible, or at the very least reach out to their respective departments and current students in order to understand which may align best with your specific career goals and interests. Good luck with your decision!
