If you're interested in computer science, there are quite a few universities in the U.S. that are renowned for their programs in this field. I'd definitely recommend:

- Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT): MIT is a globally acclaimed institution known for its cutting-edge research in the tech sector.

- Stanford University: As it's located in Silicon Valley, Stanford has strong ties to the tech industry. Its program emphasizes research and innovation.

- University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley): UC Berkeley's program is ranked among the best globally. It's known for its focus on critical thinking and problem-solving.

- Carnegie Mellon University: This institution boasts a comprehensive program that delves into both theoretical and practical aspects of computer science.

- California Institute of Technology (Caltech): It is another top-rated institution known for its rigorous and research-oriented program.

- University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign: This university has a long-established reputation in the field of computer science.

- University of Washington: The Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science & Engineering at the University of Washington is known for its outstanding faculty and strong emphasis on research.

Each of these universities has an outstanding faculty and rigorous curriculum, making them great options for a computer science major.

Just make sure to consider other factors like location, size, culture, cost, and financial aid availability when making your final college decision. While these are top-ranked programs, they are also highly competitive. So, having a well-rounded list that includes match and safety schools with strong CS programs would be advisable. Good luck with your applications!
