Where to study software engineering in Texas?

Hi! I'm interested in majoring in software engineering and would prefer to study in Texas. Which colleges in Texas have the best programs for software engineering? I'm also curious about their job placement rates after graduation.

Texas boasts a number of universities with strong software engineering programs, three of which stand out in particular.

1. University of Texas, Austin (UT Austin): UT Austin's software engineering program is part of the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering, often ranked in the top 10 nationwide for its Computer Engineering program. Their curriculum emphasizes a strong mix of theoretical foundation and practical application, aimed at preparing students for both the workforce and further studies.

2. Texas A&M University: The Department of Computer Science and Engineering offers a highly reputed software engineering program. It aims to prepare students for a variety of application domains through a blend of software design practices, project management, and practical software development methodologies.

As for job placement rates: UT Austin boasts a job placement rate of about 90% within three months of graduation for the Computer Engineering program. Texas A&M reports a job placement rate of over 75% for their College of Engineering graduates. Keep in mind that job placements can vary year by year and are not solely reflection of the program's overall quality: success depends heavily on individual student effort as well.
