Best political science colleges in New England?

I'm exploring colleges in New England for political science. Does anyone have insights into the best programs in that region? Any specific colleges that stand out?

New England is home to several universities with highly regarded political science programs. The standouts in this region include:

1. Harvard University: Known for its political science department's rigorous academic training and opportunities for research, Harvard is renowned for producing students who excel in the field. A big advantage is its location in Boston, which gives students the chance to intern with a variety of political and governmental organizations.

2. Yale University: Yale's political science department is particularly strong in International Relations and Comparative Politics. There are individualized majors available, allowing students to tailor their studies to their own interests.

3. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT): While famously known for STEM programs, MIT also offers one of the best political science programs. Strong in the fields of Political Economy and Security Studies, students get to study the complexities of politics in an interdisciplinary setting.

4. Amherst College: Known for having a robust liberal arts curriculum, Amherst’s political science department has strength across the traditional subfields, and offers a challenging yet rewarding program.

5. Brown University: Another great choice, this school's Political Science department offers four primary tracks: American Politics, Comparative Politics, International Relations, and Political Theory.

While these programs often attract much attention, I'd also encourage you to explore opportunities at other New England colleges like Dartmouth, Wellesley, Tufts, and Williams College. Each of these institutions also boasts a prestigious political science program that successfully prepares students for a variety of careers and post-graduate studies. Remember, part of choosing a college should include considering student culture, environment, and resources beyond just the department's reputation. Good luck on your college search!
