Recommendations for top political science colleges in Virginia?

As I'm deciding on colleges, Virginia is on my list for political science. Could anyone recommend some of the best political science programs in Virginia?

Virginia offers several excellent political science programs. At the top of the list is the University of Virginia (UVA). UVA's political science department is highly respected nationally, and is particularly known for its strong focus on American Government and International Relations. It's also in close proximity to Washington D.C., making for great internship opportunities.

George Mason University is another strong contender in the state. Located in a suburb of DC, the school offers plenty of opportunities for students interested in politics. Their Schar School of Policy and Government is particularly known for political and theoretical studies.

The College of William & Mary is a smaller, liberal arts school with a distinguished political science department. It offers an in-depth program with a focus on understanding political behavior, political institutions, and policy.

James Madison University is also worth looking into for its notable political science program. The department is recognized for its emphasis on civic education and public service.

Virginia Tech's political science program, particularly its National Security and Foreign Affairs concentration, is highly regarded and very interdisciplinary.

Of course, each of these institutions has its own strengths and specializations, so it's best to thoroughly research each school's program to see which aligns best with your interests and goals. It's also a good idea to consider other factors such as campus culture, size, location, and the resources and opportunities available for students.
