Best engineering schools in Oregon?

I'm doing some college research and want to find out which colleges in Oregon have the top engineering programs. Are there any schools that you think are the best for prospective engineers?

Oregon is home to several universities that offer excellent engineering programs. In no particular order, here are three that come to mind:

1. Oregon State University: The College of Engineering at OSU consistently ranks among the nation's top engineering schools. Its programs are both comprehensive and diverse, encompassing majors such as Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and more. OSU is especially renowned for its excellent programs in Nuclear Engineering and Engineering Physics.

2. University of Portland: The Shiley School of Engineering at UoP promises small class sizes, personalized instruction, and extensive hands-on learning opportunities. It offers concentrations such as Electrical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, and Computer Science.

3. University of Oregon: Although UO's primary focus isn't on engineering, it does offer a solid undergraduate program in Physics which is often a precursor to engineering fields. It also has a unique Product Design program where engineering principles are applied.

You should consider factors other than rankings when evaluating these programs, such as the availability of internships and co-op opportunities, research and lab facilities, faculty-to-student ratio, and the professions of graduates. Your interest area within engineering can also greatly influence which school is the best fit for you.
