Best college in Wisconsin for engineering?

Considering schools in Wisconsin specifically for engineering. Does anyone know which colleges have the strongest engineering departments? I'm interested in both academics and what the student community is like.

The University of Wisconsin-Madison is widely considered the best engineering school in Wisconsin. It's ranked among the top 20 in the U.S. for its engineering programs, according to U.S. News and World Report. The department offers a wide variety of programs, including Biomedical, Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, Materials Science, and Mechanical Engineering. Additionally, its faculty and students are regularly involved in extensive research, and the university's robust industry partnerships provide numerous opportunities for co-op work experiences and internships.

On the student community side, UW Madison is home to a number of engineering student organizations, like the Society of Women Engineers (SWE), National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE), and American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), which can provide opportunities for networking, leadership, and support. The college also has a dedicated Engineering Career Services office, which can be helpful for job searching and internships.

If you're open to other options within the state, the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) is also noteworthy. While it's not as highly ranked as UW-Madison, it's known for a hands-on, application-oriented curriculum and relatively small class sizes.

When making your decision, consider not only ranking and reputation but also the overall fit of the school, including its size, location, and student culture. Visiting the campus and talking with current engineering students or alumni might give you better insights into what it's like to be a student there.
