Electronic Engineering Colleges in Chicago?

I'm planning to study electronic engineering and would like to stay in the Chicago area. Which colleges in Chicago have strong programs in electronic engineering, and what are their reputations like?

There are a few colleges in Chicago that offer notable programs in electronic engineering. The most prominent among them are:

1. Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT): It has a well-regarded Electrical and Computer engineering department with a strong focus on Electronics. The curriculum covers everything from analog to digital electronics, embedded systems, and communications. The faculty is experienced and they provide research opportunities as well.

2. University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC): UIC's electrical engineering program is flexible with numerous electives, which would allow you to concentrate on electronics engineering if you so choose. The college is known for its solid faculty and ample research opportunities.

3. Northwestern University (Evanston): Located just outside Chicago, Northwestern has an excellent Electrical and Computer Engineering program. Their classes are fairly small and they have strong relationships with industry partners for co-op experiences and internships. It's also ranked consistently among the top programs nationally.

Each of these programs offers its own unique advantages and a student's choice will ultimately depend on their individual preferences and circumstances. While Northwestern carries a greater prestige due to its high national ranking, IIT and UIC are still highly revered and may offer a more intimate learning experience.
