Best colleges in Idaho for computer engineering?

Idaho might be an option for me to study computer engineering. I'd appreciate any suggestions on which colleges have the best programs and opportunities for internships and research in this field.

When discussing computer engineering programs in Idaho, two schools quickly come to mind: Boise State University and the University of Idaho.

Boise State University has a strong College of Engineering. Their Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department offers a Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering which combines aspects of electrical engineering with an emphasis on computer systems. This ECE department also has numerous facilities for student research and learning including multiple computer and hardware labs. Its location in Boise - one of the fastest-growing tech hubs in the U.S. - also provides ample opportunities for internships in the field.

The University of Idaho, on the other hand, has a highly respected College of Engineering. Their Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering offers a B.S. in Computer Engineering, with the added benefit of having a strong connection with the tech industry which could result in internships and employment opportunities. Their curriculum covers areas such as computer hardware, software systems, and design principles, with a strong emphasis on practical skills and hands-on experience.

Both colleges offer opportunities for undergraduate research, capstone projects, and internships. Remember, it's not only about which program is "best" on paper, but which program aligns with your personal interests, learning style, career goals, and budget. Visit the campuses, communicate with current students or alumni, and interact with the faculty to gain a better understanding of each program.
