Recommendations for environmental science programs in PA?

Hey, I'm thinking about pursuing environmental science and would love to know which colleges in Pennsylvania are highly recommended for this major. If anyone has personal experiences or knows about any special programs, that would be awesome to hear about.

Pennsylvania provides a diverse range of options for prospective environmental science students.

The University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) carries a strong reputation in the field with its Earth and Environmental Science degree program, which provides an interdisciplinary approach that combines both science and social science.

Pennsylvania State University (Penn State) offers a B.S. in Environmental Resource Management and has strong research facilities, providing students with hands-on experiences.

Temple University is another excellent choice with its Bachelor's in Environmental Science program, which offers concentrations in Applied Ecology, Climate, Environmental Geochemistry, and Hydrology.

Lehigh University has a four-year Bachelor's program in Earth and Environmental Sciences that heavily focuses on fieldwork, research, and internships.

Dickinson College offers an Environmental Science & Studies major that touts an interdisciplinary approach with a strong emphasis on experiential education and research opportunities.

For smaller liberal arts colleges, Swarthmore College is known for its rigorous approach to liberal arts education and the school offers a robust Environmental Studies program, incorporating a range of disciplines from biology and chemistry to philosophy and sociology.

Remember, when evaluating programs, consider not only the curriculum but also the opportunities for research, internships, and collaborations with faculty. Additionally, consider the school’s facilities and the proximity to environments you may wish to study in depth.
