When it comes to biomedical engineering in Ohio, there are a few colleges that stand out.

One is Case Western Reserve University. It's known for its Coulter Department of Biomedical Engineering, which is a collaboration between Case School of Engineering, and their School of Medicine. This program is highly interdisciplinary and regularly ranks among the top biomedical engineering programs nationwide. Among other things, the program is recognized for its outstanding research opportunities and creative hands-on design projects, which are considered to be shining points of the program.

The University of Cincinnati is another strong contender. Their Biomedical Engineering program places a high emphasis on co-op experience. The University guarantees paid, professional co-op experiences, which sets students up for a smooth transition into the professional world.

Moreover, Ohio State University's College of Engineering has a Biomedical Engineering program that prepares students to work in diverse areas within the biomedical industry. The program allows students to choose from few different subfields like biomaterials, biomechanics, imaging, neural engineering, and high-performance computing.

Lastly, the University of Akron provides a very hands-on approach to learning. Their Biomedical Engineering program provides opportunities to participate in cutting-edge research. Additionally, their strong ties to the biomedical industry in Akron provide students with real-world experience and networking.

All of these universities have different strengths, so it might be a good idea to visit their websites, attend information sessions if possible, and reach out to current students or faculty to get a feel for which program fits you the best.
