Top schools for computer science and electrical engineering?

I'm aiming to study computer science along with electrical engineering. Can anyone recommend colleges with strong departments in both? I'm particularly interested in programs that encourage interdisciplinary projects.

Absolutely, there are several colleges that stand out for their strength in both computer science and electrical engineering, as well as their culture of interdisciplinary work.

1. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT): MIT's Electrical Engineering & Computer Science (EECS) is the largest department at MIT, and it's ranked consistently among the top in the nation. The department offers an array of interdisciplinary programs and encourages project-based learning.

2. Stanford University: Stanford accommodates both electrical engineering and computer science within the broader School of Engineering. Its facilities for interdisciplinary work, including the Huang Engineering Center, are top-notch.

3. University of California, Berkeley (Cal): The EECS department at Cal is designed to allow students to integrate both areas into their studies seamlessly, and the college's culture strongly encourages interdisciplinary work.

4. California Institute of Technology (Caltech): Caltech has separate departments for Computer Science and Electrical Engineering, but both are part of the Division of Engineering and Applied Science. Research at Caltech is uniquely multidisciplinary, with many opportunities for students to contribute to ongoing projects.

5. Carnegie Mellon University (CMU): CMU's School of Computer Science is constantly ranked among the best in the world. Its Electrical and Computer Engineering department is highly respected as well, with numerous interdisciplinary projects available.

That said, you should also consider factors like the campus culture, accessibility of professors, class sizes, location, and student life while choosing a college.
